984-263-9979Mike Shuster is the newly appointed VP, Business Development for eBen | Risk Strategies. As a experienced and trusted advisor with more than 30 years of health and welfare benefit knowledge, he is skilled in servicing clients in various industries and complexities. This includes mergers and acquisitions; global benefit challenges, the harmonization of individual affiliate company benefits into a single benefit platform and various alternative funding strategies.
Mike owned his own consulting business which focused on employee benefit current and future trends among such clients as private equity, venture capital, investment banks and hedge funds investors.
Mike also held the role of Area Senior Vice President Global Consulting for the Southeast region within the Multinational Benefits and Human Resources Consulting Practice while at Gallagher. In this position, Mike assisted in serving all types of globally mobile organizations and their employees including U.S. Expatriates, Third Country Nationals (TCN), U.S. Inbound Expatriates (Inpat), Key Local Nationals (KLN), Local Nationals (LN) and International Business Travelers.
Prior to this, Mike served in several roles within the benefits consulting industry for almost 22 years. His roles included, sales, growth leader and practice leader. During this time, Mike specialized in high touch excellence in service to his clients. This included partnering with clients in managing their risk, talent and rewards and overall wellness and productivity of their most valued assets – their employees. Prior to Mike’s consulting experience, he worked for one of the leading national carriers for eight years. Serving in roles from sales to leadership.
Mike holds a degree in Business administration from the University of Maryland. Among Mike’s accomplishments, he is most proud of his involvement with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Mike coordinated and produced a wellness conference for more than 100 employers with keynote speakers – Dr. Dee Edington and Dr. Steve Gladis in 2014. Mike has authored two white papers regarding Private Exchanges (2014) and the Affordable Care Act (2015). Most recently, Mike was a presenter at the annual statewide Maryland Board of Education Conference in 2019. Mike obtained his Health & Life insurance license in 1997 and added licenses in Medicare and LTC in 2022.
