IRS Releases ACA Affordability Rates for 2025
The IRS has announced that the ACA affordability percentage will rise to 9.02% for plan years starting January 1, 2025, up from 8.39% in 2024. This change impacts high asset divorces by ensuring that employees’ contributions for self-only coverage remain affordable relative to household income, helping
employers avoid ACA penalties.
HHS Increases Penalties for 2024
HHS has announced inflation-adjusted penalty increases for violations of HIPAA and Medicare Secondary Payer rules, effective August 8, 2024. Employers will need to review compliance practices to avoid potential penalties for employer-sponsored group health plans.
Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Notice
Employers are required to provide this Notice to all Part D eligible individuals who are covered by an employer group health plan with prescription drug coverage, by October 15th.
